A Delicious Christmas Cookie Recipe, From our family to yours.

Baking with your family strengthens family traditions that can be passed down from generation to generation. There's so much love and laughter surrounded around the kitchen. Children love to bake, they gain Math, Reading and life skills while baking and learning how to measure ingredients. There is always something baking in our kitchen and while we are approaching the holidays , it was on my heart to share this nontraditional Christmas cookie with you! 

 

My house hold is not a fan of the traditional sugar cookie and I knew I had to do something about it. So, one day I got to thinking what if i swapped the sugar cookie for a butter cookie and it was a hit!

Growing up we had the most amazing butter cookies in our lunch room and I was determined to master the recipe, Once I did these decadent flaky butter cookies has been a favorite to anyone that has ever tried them. Rather you are an adult or child you and your family will LOVE these butter cookies from my family to yours enjoy! 

 

-P.S you can use cookie cutters if you like with this cookie dough as well 

 

Ingredients 

2 Sticks of Butter 

1/2 Cup sugar 

1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract 

2 Cups of Flour 

 

Directions 

 

Sit your butter and let it soften for at least an hour before starting this recipe. Once butter is softened cream together in a mixing bowl with sugar, add in your vanilla extract and mix together well. Slowly sift in your flour at small portions at a time mix in well until your batter forms into dough. This batter makes about 18 cookies , grab small portions of your cookie dough and form them into balls, use a fork or your fingers to simply mash down to imprint your cookies . IF you are using a cookie cutter you can cut your dough into shapes 

 

place your cookie dough onto baking sheet your parchment paper. preheat the oven to 375 and bake cookies for 13 minutes please check your cookies regular they will brown fast. once your cookies are golden brown remove from oven let them cook and enjoy!
